Baseball takes both games in today's doubleheader

Game 1 Recap (W: 7-2 Final/7)

In the first inning, Paul D Camp scored one run on a fielder's choice. The Cardinals responded with 2 runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning, and added 2 more in the third. In the 5th inning, the Cardnials notched three runs off of singles by Jordan LoweMark Copenhaver and Jorge Hernandez. Jordan Lowe led Stratford University with two hits in three at bats. The Cardnials stole four bases during the game. Tim Gromkoski pitched Stratford to victory. He went five innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out four. Chase Mandic and Ryan Rhodes entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. 

Game 2 Recap (W: 5-1 Final/7)

Paul D Camp got things started in the first inning when Kyle Martin drove in a run with a single. That would be the only run for the Hurricanes in game two. Nicholas Korovich earned the win for the Cardinals. He lasted seven innings, allowing five hits and one run while striking out five. Austin Elledge went 2-for-4 at the plate with 2 RBIs to lead Stratford to victory. Jordan Carter and Jorge Hernandez each had a hit as well.


The Cardinals will face off with Paul D Camp tomorrow at 11:00am for the third game of three of this home series.
