Stratford University Cardnials defeated Kent State-Tuscarawas 15-5 on Saturday thanks in part to Austin Elledge, who drove in five runners. Elledge drove in runs on a groundout in the second, a single in the third, and a single in the fifth.
The Cardnials got things moving in the first inning, when an error scored one run for Stratford. They tallied seven runs in the fifth inning. Elledge, Justin Smith, Mark Copenhaver, and Daniel Nevins each drove in runs during the inning.
Chase Mandic toed the rubber for the Stratford University Cardnials. He allowed two hits and two runs over three innings, striking out three.
#9 got the start for Kent State - Tuscarawas. He lasted four and two-thirds innings, allowing 15 hits and 15 runs while striking out one.
Elledge and Lowe each managed three hits to lead Stratford University Cardnials.
The Cardinals are now 14-14 on the year and look to square off with Thomas Nelson CC on Tuesday April 3 at 3pm at Cardinal Park (1435 Todds Ln, Hampton, VA 23666).
