Former UCF pitcher Lindsay Enders tapped to run Stratford University's Softball program

Stratford University has announced the hiring of Lindsay Enders as Head Softball Coach.  Coach Enders is a native of Virginia Beach and attended Kempsville High School.  After graduation Coach Enders attended North Florida Community College (NFCC) where she played two seasons for the Lady Sentinels and was named two-time All-State honoree, First-team All-Conference, First- team all-state in 2002 and voted to be on the Florida Junior College State All-Tournament Team. NFCC won the 2003 Panhandle Conference championship, the Gulf Coast Region Championship, and the 2003 state championship where she was named Second-Team NJCAA All-American.

Coach Enders eventually transferred to University of Central Florida (UCF) where she was a 2 year starter in the pitching rotation. In 2004 she became the second pitcher in UCF history to win 20 games going the distance in 24 of her 27 starts. Her 1.59 ERA was the second best in program history, and seventh in the Atlantic Sun Conference. She recorded seven shutouts and held opposing batters to a .192 average. She was named A-Sun pitcher-of-the-week two times.
Finishing her career at UCF in 2005, Coach Enders pitched a total of 484.0 innings, 68 starts, 83 appearances, opponent batting average of .203, ERA 1.74, 46 wins and 22 losses, 2 saves, 60 complete games, 15 shutouts, 320 strike outs and the most batters ever faced at UFC with 2047 batters. One of Coach Enders most memorable days in her athletic career was being handed the A-Sun Tournament MVP award accompanying the huge win of the 2005 A-Sun Tournament qualifying UCF for their first ever NCAA Regional's Tournament.
 
Following her graduation from the University of Central Florida in 2006 receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality Management, Coach Enders was selected to further her softball career in Holland and signed with the DCS-74 pro softball team. Coach Enders has worked with over 60+ players from the Orlando, Florida area and over 100+ girls in the Virginia Beach, VA and Hampton Roads area combined. She currently instructs pitching, hitting, and fielding with girls all over Virginia, and is very excited to be coaching at a college level.

The Stratford University Lady Blue Cardinals begin play in the Spring of 2018 and will be members of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association.  All home games will be played at Stoney Run in Newport News.
